About the Process
Kimberley follows a simple, easy process that ensures your experience is stress free and under your control. Nothing is committed until you are happy with the design of your dress.
At your initial appointment at Kimberley's workroom Kimberley will gather your ideas and details for the style of your wedding. Pictures you may have gathered are welcome. Although Kimberley makes original gowns, pictures can help convey the look and style that you are after.
Kimberley will use sketches, fabric samples and inspirational pictures to work with you to come up with a final sketch and pricing for your gown. Together, you will design the dress that is perfect for your figure, style, and wedding day.
Kimberley also has experience in altering or remaking vintage gowns.
If you are happy with the design and price you will need to pay a deposit to confirm that you would like Kimberley to turn the design into reality.
Using your measurements a pattern will be drafted and a simple calico dress is made to check and adjust for the perfect fit, and to refine the style on your body. Once the pattern is perfected the construction of your beautifully crafted wedding gown can begin.
Your custom wedding dress can take three to six months to complete from initial meeting to final fitting and delivery. Usually at least three fittings are required. Pricing typically starts at $2500.
