Tea length is such a great option for summer afternoon weddings, especially if you want to really dance. I so enjoyed working with Andrea and meeting two of her daughters who were also her bridesmaids. Andrea came to me with some very specific ideas on what she wanted her wedding dress to be, and once we found this beautiful lace it helped us finalise the rest of the design details. The lace is heavily embroidered at the top fading out to loosely scattered petals at the hem. We came up with a design that would make the most of the lace, with minimal seams to interrupt the beading. With a little stretch as well, and a beautiful weight to it from all the beading, it felt incredible to wear. She had purchased a stunning piece of french chantilly lace and a vintage brooch from overseas that she was keen to incorporate into the design. As we only had 1m of the lace to work with we used it to its maximum. The top of the dress and sleeves were left unlined to allow the delicate lace to show clearly. This coat was made from a stunning red wool and the edges were hand stitched in white thread for contrast. Elements of the design were inspired by the customers previous much loved, but worn out coat.
